Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) cover every order placed with Highlight Machine. Please read them before you order. If anything is unclear, email info@highlightmachine.com and we will explain.
1. Who we are
Highlight Machine is a service operated by SoFroNo Media, LLC (“Highlight Machine,” “we,” “us,” “our”), 26 Michigan St, Long Beach, NY 11561. You can reach us at info@highlightmachine.com.
2. Agreeing to these Terms
You accept these Terms when you tick the agreement box and place an order. We record the date and the version of these Terms you accepted. The version in effect when you place an order applies to that order.
The person placing the order must be at least 18 years old and must be either the athlete’s parent or legal guardian, the athlete (if 18 or older), or someone the parent, guardian or adult athlete has authorized to order. By ordering, you confirm that this is true.
3. What you are buying
Each order is for one recruiting highlight reel, built by a human editor from footage you provide. New orders using footage directly from our event library are temporarily paused. Earlier event-footage orders retain their agreed access. The standard reel includes:
- Up to 20 clips
- Motion graphics and an intro
- The athlete information, stats and contact details you supply
- Your choice of sound: licensed stock music, camera audio only, or silent
- One included revision round
- An HD MP4 file to download
Optional add-ons, chosen when you order:
- Tape Review ($249): send up to 5 full games and an editor watches them, picks the plays and puts them in order.
- Extra Clips ($49 per block of 10): add up to 10 clips for $49 or up to 20 for $98, beyond the 20 included. Online orders allow up to 40 clips total; contact us before ordering more. Reels target three minutes or less, including orders with Extra Clips.
- Expedited ($299): a first cut within 24 hours after we have your footage and payment. Expedited cannot be combined with Tape Review.
- Social Media Cut ($149): a separate vertical edit sized for Instagram, TikTok and YouTube Shorts, delivered alongside the full reel.
4. Prices and payment
A reel is $329 plus any add-ons you choose. The total shown when you order is the total you pay. All prices are in U.S. dollars.
Payment is one charge, due when you order. There are no subscriptions. Card payments are processed by Stripe on a secure checkout page; we never see or store your full card number. Work on your order starts after payment is received.
For earlier orders using our event library, film recorded by LI Sports Network is purchased separately. That purchase is not part of your Highlight Machine order total and is not covered by the refund terms below.
5. Your footage
After payment, your private order page lets you upload files, paste links to footage you have permission to share (for example Google Drive, Dropbox, Vimeo or OneDrive). Event-library selection is unavailable for new orders during the pause. Uploads are limited to 5 GB per file and 250 GB per order. For larger files, share a Google Drive or Dropbox folder instead.
Links must let our editor download the original video file. A view-only or login-protected link may not work. If we cannot get a usable file, we will contact you, and the delivery time starts once we have usable footage.
For a standard reel, send the clips you want or mark the moments in your games. If you want an editor to watch full games and choose the plays, add Tape Review.
We work with the footage we receive. We can adjust pace, framing and color, but we cannot fix footage that is blurry, too far away or missing the play.
6. Delivery times
Your first review cut is ready within 5 business days after we receive usable footage and payment. With Expedited, your first review cut is ready within 24 hours after we receive usable footage and payment. Business days are Monday through Friday, excluding U.S. federal holidays. If something delays your order, we will tell you by email.
These timeframes cover the first review cut. Revision work, your review time and preparation of the clean final file follow that first cut. We deliver the clean final file after you approve the edit.
7. Review, revisions and approval
When your cut is ready, you watch it on your private order page. The review copy carries a watermark. From there you can approve it or request changes.
- Every order includes one revision round. List all of your changes in that one request.
- A revision covers changes to the edit: clip choice and order, on-screen text, stats and contact details, and similar adjustments using the footage you already sent.
- Each additional revision round is $49. We ask you to pay it before we start that round.
Once you approve a cut, we prepare the clean final file, without the watermark, and email you when it is ready to download from your order page.
8. Refunds
If you cancel before editing has started, we will refund your order in full. Once editing is in progress, the order is not refundable. A paid revision round is not refundable once work on it has begun.
If we are unable to deliver your reel, we will refund what you paid for the order. Refunds go back to your original payment method.
If you have a problem with a charge, please email us first so we can make it right.
9. Sound and music
You choose the sound for your reel on your order page: licensed stock music provided by us (the default), no music with the camera audio from your footage, or silent with no audio at all.
If you choose stock music, our editors pick it from our licensed stock library to fit the pace of the reel. We do not take requests for specific commercial songs. The music is licensed for use in the reel as we deliver it. Separating the music from the reel or using it anywhere else is not covered.
If you choose camera audio, the reel keeps the sound recorded with your footage. That sound can include music played at the venue, which some websites may flag when the reel is posted. We do not add, remove or license venue music.
10. Accuracy
We do not fabricate, composite or alter plays. Every play in your reel is real footage you provided or event film we have access to. You are responsible for the accuracy of the athlete information, stats and contact details you give us, and we show them as supplied. If a coach or program asks about a reel’s authenticity, we will help them verify it.
11. Your content and your reel
Your footage. You keep all rights to the footage and photos you provide. You give us a limited permission to store, copy and edit them only to produce and deliver your order. You confirm that you have the right to share the footage with us for that purpose.
Your finished reel. Once your order is paid and delivered, you may use, post and share the reel for recruiting and personal purposes, including sending it to coaches and posting it on recruiting profiles and social media. You may not resell the reel or license it to others. Our graphics templates and the licensed music remain ours or our licensors’; you receive the right to use them as part of the reel.
Event film. If your reel uses film LI Sports Network recorded, that footage belongs to LI Sports Network. You may use it as part of your reel as described above.
12. Samples and your privacy
We show a finished reel as a sample on our website or social media only if you ticked the optional box when ordering or gave us permission in writing. If you leave it unticked, your reel stays private to your family. You can withdraw permission at any time by emailing us, and we will remove the reel from our website and stop using it in new posts.
Any sample we show is anonymous. We do not publish the athlete’s name, contact details or other identifying information. How we handle personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.
13. Your private order link
Your order page is reached through a private link we email to the parent email on the order. Anyone with that link can see the order, so please do not post or forward it. If it is shared by mistake, email us and we will reset it.
14. Storage of files
We keep your uploads and delivered files in private cloud storage. Film and photos you upload are deleted automatically 1 year after upload. Review cuts and your final reel stay on your order page for 30 days after we deliver the final reel and are then deleted, so please download your reel and keep your own copy. You can ask us to delete your footage and files sooner at any time, as described in our Privacy Policy.
15. What you may not do
You may not use the service to:
- Submit footage of anyone other than the athlete being featured and presented as that athlete
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent game results, stats or accomplishments
- Upload content you do not have the right to share, or content that is unlawful
- Interfere with the website or try to access another family’s order
We may refuse or cancel an order that breaks these rules. If we cancel before editing starts, we refund it in full.
16. No guarantee of recruiting results
A highlight reel is one part of the recruiting process. We do not guarantee that any coach, program or school will watch the reel, respond, or offer a roster spot, admission or scholarship.
17. Third-party services
We rely on outside services to run Highlight Machine, including Stripe for payments, Amazon Web Services for file storage, and our web host and email provider. Links you share from Hudl, YouTube, Google Drive and similar services are subject to those services’ own terms.
18. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from or related to an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under law that cannot be waived.
19. Indemnification
You agree to cover any claim against us that arises from footage or information you provide, your use of the reel, or your breach of these Terms.
20. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. If you have a concern, email us first; most problems are resolved quickly that way. Any dispute that is not resolved will be heard in the state or federal courts serving Nassau County, New York, and either party may bring a qualifying claim in small claims court.
21. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version. Changes apply to orders placed after the update. The Terms you accepted continue to govern any order already placed.
